Just because the game is going to be virtually the same on launch doesn't mean that's what should be normalized or acceptable for a beta.

@@facuperez8417

Hi mam, newcomer here. I played about 20-ish hours of the first game, and I like it, but matchmaking was slow in my region and I have nobody to play with so it turned kinda boring. After watching your video I said f-it, let's try this one too, and it's AMAZING. I really like it, the gamefeel all along is awesome, movement, weapons, game modes, skills, it's all feel really polished and I appreciate that in a gen where everything is dropped in whatever stay it is so it can start making money. I think I will stick along the game for a while, since I was really looking for a shooter like this, arcade and classic but not a copypaste of Halo or CoD.

@@DavidBellon17

give it 1 month, shooting doesn't feel good

splitgate 1 didnt die the developers killed it

@@mmkanashiro

8:00 i can undertand why players are mad at this
a beta version should be used to find bugs, rework mechanics and balance the game, adding micro transactions and saying this is a finished game also means that they dont care about the reason why beta versions exists and only use the beta tag as excuse for bugs and other flaws
TL DR, if its a beta it isnt finished, if it isnt finished it shouldnt have paid content

@@jukurenzz

Hot take - SG2 feels like a worse version of SG. Having to level up guns for more power feels lame... adding attachments to the weapons does not make the game more enjoyable or add much competitive value and/or fun. Adding the abilities is really the only real game change. 90% of whats new in the game feels like monetization changes. Progressive skins, more purchasable currency, hell even if you get a skin you can only use it on the one class. IMO splitgate still has the same problems the first one had... when you really started grinding and getting into high mmr games, the game became all about portal routes. Once the game becomes about jumping around 2 portals per second it becomes like a wall for casuals, also not to mention does not make for a very good spectator sport, a new player watching a high level game is just gonna see a bunch of portal flashing on screen over and over not being able to keep track where or what the hell is going on. Idk how you fix that, maybe add a stacking CD or charges on the portal gun so you can still do cool double jump routes without it getting out of hand.

i got bored after 30 minutes

if it wasnt for the microtransaction nightmare vibe already id give it a 9/10 but it feels like a money grab

@@NinjaSenshi

The nail in the coffin for me personally is loadouts, I am loving the hypocrisy of/in the halo community who is supporting this game. Halo 4 had loadouts in it, killstreaks, etc. & people lost their collective minds. (Rightfully so.) Now all of a sudden these things are okay? Every game does this, it's not unique, & it's been getting old since 2010-2011. Halo & Gears are the only games that don't have this, which in 2025 is sad.

@@theUBERsashimi

No. It won't. Video over.

@@AphroOrTroll

Top UE5 game fs bro

@@KidSereneonxbox

Fun with a group, dogshit if playing solo😂. Every teammate I get plays every game mode like it's TDM. Completely ignore the objective, zero brain cells. Enemies can stand in front of them and they won't shoot their guns😂. If you have friends to play with the game is fun. Constantly losing bc your teammates couldn't care less about the objective is ass.

Splitgate 2 is amazing 🤩

@@feathersm7966

this game had like 0 marketing budget. it could have been a giant launch

@@cron1807

Personally I think the only map that was a miss is Ozone. It just feels weird and has terrible portalling imo. I think Zenith, although flat, has pretty good portal spots and is good for that real close in combat that makes it nowhere near as bad.

My favourite so far has to be stadium though. The huuuge verticality and like 7-10 routes with so many portal walls makes it feel super dynamic, especially in Splitball.

@@cron1807

The fast action of the devs shows they are committed to making sure the game works which I think matters

@@HotTripod78

its going to fall off like every other hype game did. Just like helldivers 2, just like lethal company, just like fall guys, and just like any other game that blows up overnight.

@@fluffieBread

The part where you complain about lack of UE5 FPS game being well optimized, you should really look into The Finals, yes that The Finals made by Embark, the studio that will release Arc Raider, aka, also UE5. And both game run extremely well at max setting

@@DarthHill42

splitgate 1 died fast i hope the same dont happen to this one

@@ArbyFoxxo

Bro first splitgate already died... How many times? 4, 5? Something like that
it will be popular and "fun" during the beta. Then it will die down, maybe get some traction is they push a big update out, and then it will die again after people get sick of it.

Portals are NOT FUN game mechanic in an FPS. The game gets too unpredictable, too many angles to watch, and too chaotic. Sure it's fun for a little bit buit it quickly gets tiring, especially if you meet sweats. And sweats ARE MEGA SWEATY in splitgate. Then it gets infuriating to play, and with no proper matchmaking, the game will be absolute suffering for regular players. No matter how much they let the community create the maps.

This is what happened to Splitgate 1. One of the things at least. But it got way too sweaty and a lot of people left, and then people remaining in the game vere unhinged maniacs and nothing could bring the game back. OFC lack of content and therefore lack of purchases and therefore lack of finances made the game die I guess, but nothing could have brought it back lol

And I don't know how people don't see that this game will die as well. "game is super fun", but I already see people getting massively frustrated by it during some matches.
And for some reason people think that community created maps will keep the game alive lmao, when the core game is not a good long-term enjoyment mix

ngl this beta is incredible! ( I started 2 days ago so i missed the launch drama) regardless the community needs to lay off the pity dick

@@ia285

Why do you pronounce "beta" like an American?

@@Caspeaon

It’s allllll gonna come down to update cadence with this game. It’s an awesome game, but everything gets stale after a while. There needs to be new stuff regularly to keep this game fresh, they need to drown people in content to keep them long term. There needs to be more progression systems as well imo, maybe they could add an overall account level or something? Im already close to maxing out two of the three factions in the game, i like the leveling systems currently in the game, but I think it still needs more. It is in beta to be fair, and I’m pretty sure the devs have said there will be more content on the full release so maybe I’m just complaining about stuff that won’t even be a problem lol, but really my only concerns with the game are the limited progression, and the update cadence like I said, I’m pretty sure I’ll have every faction maxed by the time the full game comes out, but I still love the game and I’ll definitely be playing for at least the next few months, this game has alot of potential.

The devs need to throw in Niki Minaj skins, teabag emotes, unicorn skins, rainbow squirt gun weapons and it’ll survive….oh almost forgot , ask Seth Rogen permission to use him in the game as well.

Anyone saying they liked the splitgate 1 maps more are actually just stupid af. The biggest problem with split gate 1 is how shitty the maps were( and how little they updated)

@@Ballandkoolaid

I never played splitgate 1 but i gotta say im having a ton of fun on splitgate. Not something i could play all the time. I mainly play when my buddys arent on to play other games. I was a regular halo player and i love that it feels like halo but when halo was good but at a amped up pace. Im a firm believer in goving games time to get their shit together so i dont wanna say anything too negative about it yet but it definitely has its problems.

whoever is saying sg1 is better than sg2 is wild. Ive spent an insane amount of time creating maps and playing customs with my friends on the first game and the longer you play it, the more you realize just how unpolished the first game actually was and how DIRECTIONLESS it was. I think the second game is better in almost every way. Minus how the maps are designed, that i agree with.

@@mcwinkle8059

Love the game and love the first one. Problem isnt the game itself but the competition. Live service games are going up and shutting down everywhere. I want the best for this game and hope it thrives but its hard when the same behemoths, fortnite, cod, etc, have been running the live service industry for years. People enjoy going back to what they're comfortable with and spend money on games they know they will play more.

@@squabbbb

Didn’t click for me personally. You can’t really use portals to gain momentum, and the round system breaks up gameplay arbitrarily. The game modes aren’t great, and because of that the playerbase seems to avoid doing them entirely to play TDM. Firecracker is especially frustrating, more that once I’ve had to run back into spawn because no one could be bothered to pick the thing up. The class system is tacked on, and the cosmetics look like a cheap warframe ripoff. It’s definitely got potential, but it needs more time in the oven

@@570n00b

I've currently got 55+ hours into this game and it's the first FPS game to pull me away from call of duty. Currently in black ops 6 I'm prestige master level 685ish. So that should show I'm dedicated to the game, splitgate 1 was good but splitgate 2 is just a more entertaining and friendly game than BO6.

@@SlampthChompth

When they introduce TDM as a selectable game mode I'll jump back in. But if they start SBMM'ing me and deciding my fate then I'm out. I'm not going to be playing into a stupid structure like that. SBMM is artificial, and it's unnecessary mothering of the matches. They correlate player drop off with toggling SBMM on/off and tried to present data to defend it but all it showed at the end of the day was that SBMM sacrifices an authentic experience for a failed attempt at baking one for you, under the silly notion that it's going to help keep players around. SBMM is trying to have their cake and eat it too but they just can't. SBMM pushes people away because its fake, simple as that. When you lose, it's the algorithm's fault, you were supposed to lose. When you win it was probably bots and easy lobbies because the algorithm decided you were a little too low below 1. The very existence of SBMM carries with it a psychological story attached to every single win and loss. Some have attempted to create more visibility so they tell you what kind of lobby you're in, and that's appreciated (apex legends). I ultimately don't think SBMM is necessary at all, and I think it's a net negative.

A gamer's experience is made up of the entirety of their time spent playing the game, not just a single match. SBMM is blind to that dynamic experience. It assumes your overall average performance is going to be your performance every single match, then acts as a counterweight to keep you there. That weight is arbitrary and unnecessary. The game is game enough. You add that weight and you're not only falsifying everyone's match-by-match experience, but you're falsifying their overall experience of the entire time they spend playing the game. It's a way more nuanced topic than "git gud" or "you just wanna stomp noobs". At its core, SBMM is fundamentally fake, and it's very corporate.

Been playing online fps games for over 20 years. We didn't need SBMM back then, we still don't. SBMM was born from automated matchmaking to make it easier for console players to just press a button and get into a game. But over time they just got way too carried a way with it. Load the lobby via networking efficiency and quality, then balance the teams (loosely). But to actually create entire lobbies, every single match, based on cherry picked live reactive data is robbing the player of a genuine experience not just on a match-per-match basis, but an overall basis.

Don't have the slightest clue what Splitgate's perspective or usage of SBMM actually is, but in the overall conversation around it's survival I think it's worth talking about it. At the end of the day, a game's success isn't going to be brought down by SBMM, but it's important to talk about it because studios often take it way too far. They end up creating an experience where friends can't even play with one another because there's too much of a skill gap.

If you're going to craft a fake experience for the benefit of the lower skilled, then they'll probably feed them bot lobbies (made to look like human players), and I bet that's exactly what the FPS studios are about to do now that they can finally do it under the radar thanks to AI.

@@SlampthChompth

Splitgate's success will be most impacted by their ability to let the community get creative.
