8:00 I'm curious about this smell

in case you are wondering why the horse is so cooperative, consider visiting a nail salon, you'll see the ladies there behave the same

How your horse is so calm dude

@@Horsegirl75

This Doesn’t make sense cause this guy doesn’t do all the hooves he only does that one. Well, that’s what I think.

@@ZoeysDailyPosts

Personally i dont think horses should be shoed unless they absolutely have to be. Because horses are herd animals their feet are made for hard and rocky terrain. Personally i only think they should be shoed if they have extremely sensitive hoofs, are lame, or some other really bad reason. Otherwise why shoe your horse if they’re okay being barefoot? There’s no point.

P.s this is MY honest opinion. Im not hating. And i don’t want hate comments. Im just putting out it there. Ive also done hours of research before this.

@@neiloconnor9349

Thanks. I saw a cute reel on Facebook, but wanted to learn the entire process. Takes a lot of special skills, in addition to getting the trust of the horses.

@@JenBeth-o5e

I find this fasinating. I had a Bullock and use to trim his hoofs with a Big file and some of the smaller, sharp gardening secatures when he was lying down. He also had Dew Claws at the back above his hoofs I use to have to trim back when they grew out too far also with the secatures. The Dew Claws are kinda like a bigger version of a dogs claw. I miss him, he had a lovely kind personality, good friend, made me laugh lots more than any human has. ❤

@@ziggyfunk9

If that shit hurt he’d be getting a kick in the nuts so hard it’d send him back to the Ice Age

@@steffac1075

What amazing detail! i have some qs though - what's the purpose of putting the scalding horseshoe on the hoof first? What do they do with the old horseshoes? How often should this get done and how much does it cost?
Thanks for anyone who responds!

Trust me.... if that process was painful the Horses wouldnt be standing there accepting it. They'd be flinching, whinnying, biting or kicking, or all of the above. They have zero tolerance for pain/annoyances and would be verbally and physically telling u. It is extremely uncomfortable and painful to have an overgrowth of keratin/hoof. Imagine not cutting ur toenails... like ever.... eventually ur toes start to hurt because they are constantly hitting or rubbing against things. I cant let my toenails grow at all or god help me, my toes begin to ache.

Such an amazing skill! I don’t have a horse and I don’t know why I but I love these videos and also the cow ones that have infected hooves.

@@greenebee

I’ve watched a lot of farrier videos on YouTube and you’re the only one I’ve seen check the fall of the hoof before trimming with the nippers.

@@qukoqC

The part where they play with the horseshoe and the hammer in the anvil. Is that truly necessary or it just looks cool and makes interesting sounds?

@@evaderinvasion6753

If it don't kick his butt, then its safe,im sure of it

@@ipnydia4870

Note! 8:01 THIS IS NOT HURTING THE HORSE!! This is called hot shoeing and it’s briefly pressed against the horseshoe to make a shallow imprint! It’s just to prevent bacteria from under the shoe
