hi Awkward, when you're zigzaging do you press A and D as you're running forward and swinging your mouse? or you're just pressing W and moving your mouse? I've been trying to zigzag on soldier but it doens't seem like I am doing it correctly

Smh I thought you had to have insane crit accuracy (idk, 20%+ or something) to even try ranked or else you get rolled non stop. --- Or maybe that's just my perception as someone usually playing with people ten to twenty times my hours and feels like a constant potato 😂

I’ve watched all a to of your videos and I know you say it isn’t but it really is your mechanics that let you push the way you do. I try the same off angle stuff and miss, give my position away and get ambushed no matter how fast I run. I just can’t aim well enough to push that hard and get shots that will either deal damage for someone to take cover or get a kill. Sorry but your mechanics really are 70% of of the “damage damage damage” style

FYI - You can't do this with Soldier anymore after S9. You cannot get the quick kills Awkward is able to do with those changes. Let's see him do it again after S9.

What's so funny is that in the lower ranks he consistently gets caught out in bad positions and the only thing saving him is that he is miles above the other players in terms of aim. He doesn't even follow his own advice when it comes to how to properly rank up for the average player and then he also feels the need to tell people that struggle to rank up that aim is not really a big deal and if you just follow his advice you can easily rank up.

this is probably the best guide out there. the running commentary goes hard. no one wants 5 min guides. i have about 2000 hours on counter strike and ive switched to ow. my aim is on point but its just the game sense and tips to get the most out of the aim. this definitely helps more

you asked "what does saying a loss is the teams fault even if its true?" I think it helps you improve to truthfully determine if its your teams fault or not because otherwise you keep changing your playstyle from perfect to worse because youre trying to figure out what ur doing wrong when its already good.

I think those lesson he gave out only work if you are as pro as him. As you can see he performed really well in low elo such as gold and plat, once he enter diamond level and above he died a lot... Far as my understanding, if i am better than my team, clearly "damage damage and damage" and "flank" is very powerful since he is better than the whole enemy team combine, but once he enter higher elo, he stay very far back and flame healer like most toxic dps player do, i dont wanna pin point every single time he blame it on team like why we have no mercy or our mercy is sleeping or mercy not using damage boost or mercy not res me. As the result, too many excuse make him sound very unprofessional, its called copium addict just like every gamer do. Its fun tho, this is just a game afterall, nothing wrong with it.

I understand that as dps its important to deal damage in order to push enemy back or prevent them from going in but securing kill and picks are a lot more important, any death in diamond and above will result in heavy punishment. Thats why in high elo, widow is extremely deadly, a guaranteed burst shot or 1 shot kill is alway better than a lot of damage combine, not only it give the enemy healer chance to store up ult but also increase your chance of dying if you risk cuz of greed.

Last but not least, this is a shooting game, you have to be good at aiming. In summary, this might not be everything but it will be the majority meaning of shooting game, "better aim, better rank".

I've always been bronze on ow1 and then gave up on comp after I got a single golden gun I wanted. I have better aim now and want to try comp again. My placement predict low silver. I hope I get better by practising these plays. Ty

i never played ow1 at all just ow2 and i got diamond 5 in under 50 hours on the entire game but i stopped playing. ive just come back to ow2 after about 8 months away and im playing tracer trying to learn her and i am currently plat 5, do you think that is good? and do you think i could climb higher eventually ?
