All five of those reasons. Why I avoid people. I’d rather be quiet and observe from a distance or leave.

Frankly I've yet to find even a single person at 50+ , who's yet to be of any real assistance to me , most in fact almost all of even family, forget friends, have only given me pain & debt in some sort or the other , So I steer clear Now, off all & mighty & mind my own business 😨🙏😱

Amongst other reasons, 'groups' nearly always seem to have at least one trouble maker. The one who has an ego and wants to be in charge.

I've found it's lovely having a calm, like-minded companion to share things with, that doesn't bother or pester me. I'm just as fine being alone, but I like to have someone to test out ideas on.

Throughout my whole life, I was an extremely extroverted person. Now in my mid 50s, the only people I wanna be around are my three children and my wife. And that’s it.

The requirement of dumbing yourself down so that others can understand you is vexing. They say to be yourself but when I am it "Kills" the discussion.

As for the people who are bothered by those of us who prefer to be alone, I say tough- that's your problem, not mine.

I was a military brat and we moved every year or two until I was in high school. When you don't know anyone in your new location you learn how to entertain yourself. Then I became an artist, for me a very solitary endeavor. Now retired, I'm still not happy in crowds of more than a dozen or so and I'm certainly rarely lonely!

Have always been introverted. Had a few good friends during my life but feel happier on my own. Had trust issues from an early age and still find it hard to trust. Now retired I feel very happy. I can choose when I see people and when I dont.

LAST NIGHT'S DREAM haunts me. It was about fat women, tons of them, all ready for something. What? I can't say. There were salt and pepper shakers all over the place. I was terrified. I protected my meat. I fucking had to!
DAD DEEP-FRIED DELICIOUS BEES when I was young for birthday parties and Jewish celebrations. I had a bowlful of hornets when he wasn't looking. It was like eating poker chips with no socks on.
I'M GOING TO RECORD A MUSIC ALBUM called 𝘉𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘭 𝘔𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 so when somebody asks, "Where's that song from?" I'll say, "It's the number two song from my 𝘉𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘭 𝘔𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 album."

I don't like being around people because I like being alone. I get invited to small and medium social gatherings on a weekly basis. I sincerely love people. But, at seventy-two, my time is precious and short; I've seen "it all" is the feeling I have. Except good health and spending a lot of my money, I have no more goals in life. I am very happy, I think.

I'm considered to have a level of intelligence that is well above average, but strangely enough, some of the closest friendships I ever had were with people who didn't go to college. They just happened to share some of the same interests and values. There was no underlying rivalry or envy, only mutual respect.

The crow
The plumage is shiny and of a deep black
Flitting from tree to branch
As if following me
Disrupting the lassitude of my steps
« Bring me aim and clarity »
I pester
« I need focus — I want resolve »
« Is this mighty gift not to your liking »
The crow tells me of my surroundings
As if mocking me
« Do not seek what you already have
It’s in the dark that the candle shines most »
